SailorsDeck Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

This policy explains how personal data is processed on the SailorsDeck website and online shop, and in the SailorsDeck mobile and web application.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

The data controller is SailorsDeck OÜ, registry code 16242538, Metsatuka, Rohuküla, Haapsalu linn, Läänemaa, 90441, Estonia. Telephone: +372 520 7252. Website: https://sailorsdeck.com. Contact us using these details with questions concerning privacy, accounts or personal data.

2. What information do we process?

The information depends on the services you use.

  • Account data: name or display name, nickname, email address, account ID and authentication information needed for signing in.
  • Purchase data: ordered products, order date, amount and payment status; necessary contact, invoicing and delivery details; and access entitlements for purchased digital learning materials.
  • Learning data: packs used, card learning status, answers and results, review times, exam attempts, learning statistics, achieved ranks and rewards.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser or device details, request times and logs required to operate the service. The app also creates a random device identifier to synchronise learning data.
  • Communications: information you provide in enquiries, feedback and error reports.

3. Why do we process data?

We process data to create and manage accounts, enable sign-in, process orders and unlock purchased digital packs, store learning progress and schedule reviews, synchronise learning data across devices, display results, ranks, awards and certificates, provide support, resolve technical issues, protect against misuse, and meet accounting and other legal obligations.

We send newsletters or other marketing messages requiring consent only if you have agreed. You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. Legal bases

We process data necessary for accounts, purchases and learning functions to perform a contract or take requested pre-contractual measures. Accounting data is processed to comply with legal obligations. We may rely on legitimate interests to secure the service and resolve technical issues while respecting your rights and privacy. Where consent is needed, we request it separately. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

5. Learning and local device storage

The application stores learning material, settings, learning progress and sign-in information on your device. Downloaded materials can also be used offline.

When an internet connection is available, learning data linked to your account is sent to SailorsDeck servers so that progress can be preserved and accessed from other devices. Offline changes await the next synchronisation.

Deleting downloaded materials or uninstalling the app does not automatically delete your account or learning data stored on the server.

6. Leaderboards and sharing certificates

Other users may see your display name or nickname and your learning results and achievements on leaderboards. You can disable leaderboard visibility in the relevant app setting.

A certificate may show your display name or nickname, card pack, achievement and date. You decide whether and through which service to share it. SailorsDeck does not automatically post it to your social media. Further use of shared content is governed by the selected service’s privacy rules.

7. Third-party sign-in

When you sign in using a service such as Google, we use the account identifier and, where provided, your name and email address to create or identify your account. SailorsDeck does not receive your password for that service. Its own privacy policy applies to its processing.

8. Sharing data with others

We may share data required to deliver the service with service providers, such as hosting and technical support providers, payment processors, accountants and delivery partners for physical orders.

Payment information is processed by the chosen payment provider. The SailorsDeck learning application does not request or store your full payment card number or security code.

Data may also be disclosed where required by law or a lawful order from public authorities. We do not sell personal data. External sign-in, payment and sharing services may process data outside the European Economic Area; consult their privacy policies for relevant conditions and safeguards.

9. Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses essential cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, shopping cart functions and user preferences. We may use analytics and advertising-measurement services. Analytics and advertising technologies requiring consent are used only with your permission.

You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser, but this may affect sign-in, shopping cart and other functionality.

10. How long do we retain information?

We retain account and learning data while the account is in use to provide access rights, progress and achievements. If you request deletion of your account, we delete personal data for which no lawful retention basis remains.

Order and accounting records are retained for legally required periods. Certain data may be retained after account deletion where necessary for legal obligations or legal claims. Technical logs and support messages are retained only as long as needed for their purpose. Deleted information in backups is removed through the normal backup replacement cycle.

11. Your rights and account deletion

You have the right to receive information about processing, access your data, correct inaccuracies, and, where provided by law, request deletion, restriction or portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent.

To request deletion of your SailorsDeck account and associated data, contact SailorsDeck OÜ by telephone on +372 520 7252 or in writing at the address in section 1. State that you want your account and associated data deleted. We may ask you to verify account ownership to prevent unauthorised requests. Deletion also removes learning history and may end access to linked digital packs.

If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you may complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon): https://www.aki.ee.

12. Security and updates

We apply technical and organisational safeguards. Data is transmitted between the application and SailorsDeck servers using HTTPS. We update this policy as the service or data processing changes; the current version and update date are published on this page.
